Hey there, and welcome to my first-ever blog post on my portfolio site. I'm excited to have you here!

Originally, this portfolio was like a colorful extension of my resume. It was a way to showcase my skills and interests to potential employers. I first put it together after finishing college and jumping into the corporate world. I updated it periodically, mostly when I was job hunting or during my coding bootcamp in 2022.

But this year, after some serious thinking and planning, I decided to take a big step and shift my career to start my own business. This change also means a new purpose for this website.

Staying Accountable

I've always been the kind of person who gets motivated by external factors. It's what kept me going during my studies, especially when I had to pay for courses. Starting this blog and sharing my learning journey in public is my way of keeping that external motivation alive.

Boosting Self-Confidence

I'm pretty introverted, and I'm not great at patting myself on the back. This often led me to seek validation from others, which hurt my self-esteem and made me anxious about what I create. It's time for a change. I'm sharing my work because it's what I'm passionate about, and I want to do it confidently.

Helping Others

I've learned so much from other creators, and some of my best days in my corporate job were when I got to teach, mentor, or coach others. This new career path may mean less one-on-one interaction, but could mean I can reach a broader audience. I hope my journey can inspire and educate others. Trying New Things

This career shift will push me to learn new skills, a personal blog seems like a great place to practice these skills and prototype solutions in a lower-stakes arena.

Promoting My New Business

Lastly, this change is all about my new business. A personal blog can naturally draw people in and help me promote what I'm building. Who knows where it will lead? Let's find out together!
